Ingredients
  1. 2 t grated lemon peel
  2. 8 oz cool whip, divided
  3. 1⁄2 c powdered sugar
  4. 8 oz cream cheese
  5. 1⁄4 c milk
  6. 1⁄4 c cold water
  7. 1 pk unflavored gelatin
  8. 6 T butter, melted
  9. 1 1⁄2 c graham cracker crumbs
  10. 1 cn cherry pie filling (21 oz can)
Instructions
  1. Combine crumbs and butter;press onto the bottom of a greased 9 in springform pan.
  2. Chill 15 minutes.
  3. In a saucepan, combine gelatin and water; let stand for 1 minute.
  4. Add milk; cook and stir over low heat until gelatin is dissolved.
  5. Beat cream cheese and sugar until light and fluffy.
  6. Add gelatin mixture and lemon peel; mix well.
  7. Chill until partially set.
  8. Fold in 2 cups whipped topping. Pout over crust.
  9. Chill until firm, at least 3 hours.
  10. Spread pie filling over gelatin layer.
  11. Top with remaining whipped topping.
