Pat-a-Pie Oil Pastry

Ingredients
  1. 1 1⁄4 t salt
  2. 2 t sugar
  3. 2 c all-purpose flour, sifted
  4. 1 salad oil
  5. 3 T milk
Instructions
  1. Into 8 or 9 inch pie plate, sift together 2 cups sifted all-purpose flour, 2 tsps sugar, and 1 1/4 teaspoons salt.
  2. With fork, whip together 2/3 cup salad oil and 3 tbsp milk; pour over flour mixture.
  3. Mix with fork until all flour is dampened.
  4. Reserve about 1/3 of dough for top "crust"
  5. Press remaining dough evenly against bottom and sides of pie plate. Crimp edges.
  6. Fill with a fruit filling.
  7. For top "crust" crumble reserved dough. Sprinkle over filling.
  8. Bake as directed in fruit pie recipe.
