Ingredients
  1. 1 lg egg, lightly beaten
  2. 3⁄4 c butter, melted
  3. 1⁄4 c sugar
  4. 4 c self-rising flour
  5. 2 c water, lukewarm
  6. 1 1⁄4 oz package yeast
Instructions
  1. Combine yeast and 2 cups water in large bowl; let mixture stand 5 minutes.
  2. Stir in flour and remaining ingredients until blended.
  3. Spoon into well-greased cast iron muffin pans or muffin tin, filling two thirds full or into drop biscuit pans filling half full.
  4. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes or until rolls are golden brown.
  5. Unused batter may be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
